If you are on the lookout to purchase a Laser X this Christmas and find a deal that’s too good to be true, it just may be.
On November 29th, a truckload of the real-life laser gaming experience, along with Rock Tumblers, were stolen from a distribution center in Fife, Washington. But what makes this an unusual case is that it was taken in broad daylight.
According to authorities, the trailer was loaded with 6,000 Laser X toys and awaiting departure when someone stole a tractor, hooked up to the trailer and took off around noon time.
Q13Fox reported that aside from wire fencing, the gated facility did not have high security and many people were allowed to simply walk in. (1)
With the value of goods inside the trailer reaching thousands of dollars, investigators believe that the thief knew what was inside and will sell the stolen merchandise online at discounted prices.
The stolen tractor is a white 2002 Freightliner truck with Washington plates C17569G while the trailer is reddish-brown with “Triton” written on it and Tennessee plates U479975. (1)
Crime Stoppers is offering a $1000 reward to anyone that provides a tip that leads to an arrest and Travelers Insurance is offering up to $5000 for the safe return of the toys. (2, 3) Those with information are encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
