About the Eric Trump Foundation
“Founded in 2006, The Eric Trump Foundation (ETF) is dedicated to raising money for children battling life-threatening diseases at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,” says Eleonor Content, Executive Director of ETF. “Eric Trump started it with his friends almost 10 years ago. They chose St. Jude as it is the very best research hospital in the world. To date, the Foundation has donated and pledged nearly $28 million dollars to St. Jude and grown into one of the largest private charities in the country. Through direct personal involvement and financial assistance, we strive to advance the medical and emotional needs of terminally-ill children and demand that our monetary donations are transformed into real results at St. Jude.”
Road Scholar Helps Spread Awareness
After speaking to Elmo Rinaldi, President of Northern Wine & Spirits, and learning about Eric, one of his closest friends who appointed Elmo to his foundation executive committee during its inception, Road Scholar Transport President Jim Barrett came up with the idea of creating an awareness truck for the ETF.
“I ran the idea past Eric who loved it and was thrilled that Jimmy was willing to provide such an asset to his fundraising campaign,” says Elmo.
Jim’s daughter, Bridget, came up with the design for the trailer and the photo of the child was provided by Tim Bayly, Senior Director of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Working together, the creation of The Eric Trump Foundation awareness truck came to light and hit the road to “Save Lives at St. Jude. One Child, One Cause, One Day at a Time,” making its debut at Dan Scavino’s third annual golf tournament at the Trump National Golf Club in Hudson Valley, NY last September.
“It’s not often you get offered something like this!” Eleoner remarks. “Road Scholar’s awareness program is really phenomenal. What a great way of giving back!”
Road Scholar Transport’s Eric Trump Foundation awareness truck will be making an appearance at the St. Jude Open next week. Don’t forget to snap some pictures of our truck and post them on our Facebook page!
